Rules & Regulations

  • Round 1 : PPT Shortlisting : Teams must submit a concise PowerPoint presentation (max 10 slides) outlining their proposed solution. Judges will review the submissions and shortlist the top 25 teams, with 5 more teams in the waitlist
  • Round 2 : Online Pitching : Shortlisted teams will present their ideas to the judges via Google Meet. Based on their pitches, the judges will select the top 10 teams for the next round, with an additional 5 teams in the waitlist.
  • Round 3 : Prototype Creation: The top 10 teams will develop and showcase their prototypes offline at the Electrical Engineering Department, Jadavpur University.

Is SparkHack an offline or online event?

Round 1 and 2 are conducted online, with teams submitting presentations and pitching ideas remotely. After the results of Round 2 are released on 22nd March, the top 10 teams can build their prototypes remotely from 22nd to 27th March. However, to be eligible for prizes, the top 10 teams must present their prototypes offline on 28th March at the Electrical Engineering Department of Jadavpur University.

Is coding experience required to participate in SparkHack?

SparkHack welcomes beginners-anyone who is enthusiastic about technology with a zeal for learning to try , learn and contribute.

Can a team work on multiple problem statements during SparkHack?

No, each team must choose one problem statement to work on throughout the competition.

Are only software-based solutions allowed in SparkHack?

No, both hardware and software-based solutions are allowed. Teams can choose problem statements based on their expertise and interests, whether they involve hardware implementation, software development, or a combination of both.

Will the necessary equipment be provided for the offline round?

No, participants must bring their own equipment. Teams working on hardware problem statements are required to bring their own hardware kits, while those working on software problem statements must bring their own laptops.

When will registration end?

The deadline for registering for SparkHack is on 19th March, 8:00 PM while that for the submissions is open till 19th March, 11:59 PM.
